The Challenge star goes public with girlfriend after saying he’s no longer gay

Davis Mallory, who appeared on MTV‘s The Challenge, has gone Instagram official with his girlfriend a year after announcing that he’s ‘no longer gay’.
Mallory shared several images to Instagram of himself and his girlfriend, Rachel Vaughan, alongside the caption: “Thankful for new memories that someday turn to old photographs.” He went on to share a second post, which included plenty of PDA from a holiday they went on together, saying: “It’s crazy what love can do.”
According to TMZ, former reality star Mallory first met Vaughan while we has DJing for a wedding in Hawaii in February 2022. Mallory told the publication that the two of them started travelling a lot together and became best friends before ultimately falling in love. They started dating officially in August.
The announcement of his relationship comes a year after he said that he was no longer gay after God had “pulled [him] out” of living a “gay lifestyle”.
Speaking at a church in Hawaii in September 2025, Mallory said: “I lived the gay lifestyle for about 20 years. I was on a television show, The Real World, and I came out on the show as a gay Christian, but God really pulled me out of that lifestyle a year ago.”
Mallory appeared on Season 18 of The Real World based in Denver, along with three seasons of The Challenge. During his appearances on the reality TV shows, he often spoke about his coming out and how he navigated his sexuality while growing up in a conservative family.
