RuPaul’s Drag Race’s Denali ties the knot in two iconic looks as wedding details revealed

Denali (aka Cordero Zuckerman) and Alexander Montgomery

RuPaul’s Drag Race favourite Denali is married!

The performer, real name Cordero Zuckerman, and husband Alexander Montgomery had their wedding in Chicago on 29 August.

The couple met back in 2017 at Berlin Nightclub, which is also in Chicago, making it a real full-circle moment.

Zuckerman and Montgomery said their “I dos” in matching black tuxedos from The Black Tux, with green and white corsages, smiling happily for photographs in their romantic moment.

The duo walked down the aisle to Andrew Bird’s song “Pulsaki At Night”, their favourite folk song. They felt it represents their journey as a couple, as Bird sings about starting fresh in Chicago.

And it sounds like the ceremony was a lot of fun, with the couple playing ring bearer roulette. They secretly hid their rings under the chair of one guest, with everyone having to look to see if they would be the ones to deliver the rings.

They switched things up for the reception, with Zuckerman slipping into a gorgeous halter-neck top and trousers combo, and Montgomery wearing a fun all-black look.

And both of their reception looks were created by their friend Utica. Utica, real name Ethan David Mundt, appeared on RuPaul’s Drag Race season 13 with Denali, and more recently placed joint runner-up on season 21 of Project Runway.

As well at Utica, Zuckerman and Montgomery’s nuptials were witnessed by other Drag Race queens including Shea Couleé, Kandy Muse, Willow Pill and Kahmore Hall.

Speaking of the special day, Denali told PinkNews: “Our wedding was honestly a dream come true.

“Getting to marry Alex and celebrate with the people who have always supported us and our love was beyond special.

“There were happy tears, so much dancing and more love in one room than I could have ever imagined. It was pure magic and I wish we could relive it all over again.”
