Get to know Milla Jovovich as she joins Heated Rivalry season two

American actress and former model Milla Jovovich is the biggest celebrity yet to join the Heated Rivalry cast for season two.
Jovovich will play Dr Galina Molchalina, a Russian-speaking psychologist, on the show. Her casting was announced as part of a trio of additions, alongside Kevin Zegers and Paul Gross.
The 50-year-old – who was born in Ukraine and raised in Russia, London, California and Los Angeles – is a well-known actor and model. Her casting announcement makes her one of the most high-profile names to join the hockey romance show.
When Heated Rivalry debuted, leads Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie, as professional hockey players Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov falling in love, were completely unknown. Since then, the pair have become the latest heartthrobs to take over Hollywood.

Who is Milla Jovovich in Heated Rivalry season two?
In Rachel Reid’s The Long Game, Dr Galina Molchalina is Ilya’s (Storrie) therapist.
Ilya moves from the Boston Raiders to the Ottawa Centaurs to be closer to Shane. However, in doing so, he becomes extremely isolated and seeks mental health help.
The scenes between Galina and Ilya are deeply emotional as the hockey player unpacks his childhood trauma, the death of his mother, and his relationship struggles with Shane.
Galina and Ilya also bond over their shared Russian heritage. From her upbringing, Jovovich speaks fluent English and Russian.
Season two is set to draw mostly from The Long Game, while also weaving in elements from Reid’s books Role Model and Tough Guy.
Other newcomers include Justice Smith as Harris Drover, Charlie Gillespie as Troy Barrett, Daniel Diemer as Ryan Price, Shaheen Jafargholi as Fabian Salah, Emily Hampshire as Vanessa, Edvin Ryding as Luca Haas, Robert Naylor as Wyatt Hayes, Priyanka as Tarek, and also Sabrina Jalees as Farah.

What else has Milla Jovovich been in?
Many fans are overjoyed by Jovovich’s casting in Heated Rivalry, as she’s an iconic actor who was deemed the “reigning queen of kick-butt” from her sci-fi and action roles.
Jovovich is best known for her breakthrough role in the 1997 French science-fiction action film The Fifth Element.
She’s also well known for portraying Alice, from 2002 to 2017, in the action-horror film franchise Resident Evil.
Jovovich also gained attention from Return to the Blue Lagoon, The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc and Hellboy.
Additionally, alongside her acting career, Jovovich is a former supermodel. In 2004, Forbes named her the world’s highest-paid model.
Jovovich has been featured on more than 100 magazine covers, including Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Harper’s Bazaar, and many more.
Posting about her Heated Rivalry casting on Instagram, Jovovich wrote: “Let’s bring up the heat baby. Watch out guys, the Sheriff’s coming to town. HEATED RIVALRY is about to enter the kitchen and you know what they say about it if it’s too hot….”
Heated Rivalry is streaming now on HBO, Crave and NOW. Season two is confirmed to premiere in spring 2027.
