NTA winners 2026 in full as Heated Rivalry loses to Sheridan Smith drama

The National Television Awards are over for another year, and the celebrity guests are more than likely nursing sore heads and feet whether they won or not.

The show, hosted by comedian Joel Dommett, took place at The O2 in London on 8 September, honouring the best of what television has to offer.

Among the nominees were hosting favourites like Alison Hammond and Claudia Winkleman, as well as series such as Bridgerton, Amandaland and Last One Laughing. Gay hockey drama Heated Rivalry, a Canadian show which airs on Sky in the UK, was nominated in the New Drama category, but lost out to Sheridan Smith-fronted I Fought The Law.

The awards are almost completely fan-voted, save for the Special Recognition category.

This year, that award went to everyone’s favourite Celebrity Traitor, Alan Carr. Friend Amanda Holden took to the stage alongside some of his Celebrity Traitors co-stars – Paloma Faith was brought on-stage in a coffin, no less – to perform a rendition of “I Know Him So Well”.

He appeared emotional as he realised what was happening, laughing and pointing at his friends.

But he was far from the only winner of the night.
