Hasan Piker’s “meat pic” has officially made it to the Republican National Committee.
The left-wing political commentator, streamer and influencer reacted in disbelief after a photo of him posing in his underwear appeared on giant screens during the opening day of the RNC’s midterm convention in Dallas, Texas, on Wednesday (9 September).
Watching footage of the moment during a livestream, Piker repeatedly exclaimed: “What the f***?” before realising the Republicans had used the photo in a video playing on the giant screens.
“Nooo!” he said, laughing. “They f****** posted the meat pic!”

The image was originally posted by Piker on Instagram in November 2024. Piker is a self-described socialist with over 3million followers on Twitch.
The convention itself is a two-day “special ceremonial convention” being held in Dallas to rally Republicans ahead of the midterms and celebrate President Donald Trump’s administration. Unlike a traditional nominating convention, delegates cannot conduct formal party business, adopt resolutions or hold elections at the event.
President Trump made an appearance to close out the first day of the convention, telling audiences: “I’m asking you to pretend that I’m on the ballot. Just one more time, because if we lose, you’re going to lose your border. You’re going to lose your tax cuts. You’re going to lose your safety and security. You’re going to lose your wealth,” as reported by The Hill.
‘They posted the meat pic’
And apparently, the GOP’s messaging strategy now includes Hasan Piker in his underwear.
Search interest around Piker surged following the bizarre appearance. Google searches for “Hasan Piker shirtless” jumped by 5,000% after the incident, with zero searches being recorded the day before, and 100 searches being recorded after Piker’s photo appeared at the convention.
Piker later joked about the appearance on social media, writing that Republicans were trying to “make blexas happen”, which is a reference to the long-running idea of turning Texas blue.
As Piker himself put it while watching the footage: “They posted the meat pic at the f****** Trumpapalooza!”
