Jennifer Lawrence has just joined Instagram – but she’s already threatening to quit

Jennifer Lawrence has joined Instagram

Jennifer Lawrence has officially entered her Instagram era – and she’s already warning us she might quit.

The Oscar-winning actor has finally joined Instagram after years of mostly staying away from social media, and she’s now posted her very first video under the handle @jlaw.

In the clip, Jennifer acknowledges that she’s giving Instagram a go, saying: “So yeah, I’m giving it a shot. And if anyone says anything negative, I will quit, immediately, no questions asked. If anyone thinks something mean, I’ll know, and I’ll quit.”

Honestly? A completely understandable approach to social media.

Jennifer had already gone viral after acknowledging her recent “facism” slip-up at the 2026 LVMH Prize ceremony in Paris.

She accidentally said “facism” instead of “fashion” while presenting an award, and after the clip spread online, she appeared to embrace the mistake by commenting “Oops” underneath a viral post about it.

But fans have also been doing some serious investigating into who Jennifer has chosen to follow… and one name has really stood out. Miss Piggy.

Yes, Jennifer Lawrence follows the iconic Muppets diva, which might be the most important detail from her Instagram debut.

Her following list also includes plenty of famous faces, including her Hunger Games co-star Josh Hutcherson and the Kardashians, but Miss Piggy being there feels particularly iconic.

Jennifer has previously been known for keeping her distance from social media, so seeing her actually join Instagram, post her first video and interact with viral content is already a pretty major development.

Now we just need everyone to behave in the comments, because apparently we have one chance before she deletes the whole thing.
