Delta Goodrem shared a tearful video from home after Johannes Radebe sent her an on-air message of support on Strictly Come Dancing, as she missed Icons Week with a rib injury.
Goodrem sat out the themed episode after sustaining the injury in training with her partner, Kai Widdrington. In a video posted to her Instagram, she filmed herself watching the show and reacting in real time as the presenters addressed her absence.
As the live episode opened, host Emma Willis told viewers: “Before we get started you might notice there is one couple missing. Sadly, Delta has suffered an injury and on the advice of the medical team will not be dancing this week under the rules of Strictly she receives a bye through to next week.”
Radebe then added: “Delta my darling, I know you’ll be watching so I just want to say we are all sending you so much love.”
Goodrem, visibly emotional, replied: “I love you too,” and captioned the clip: “Thanks team. It’s been a rough week. Love you guys!”
Delta Goodrem’s Strictly injury
Ahead of the broadcast, Goodrem shared a separate message to fans as she prepared to watch from her “little seat” at home.

“Hello everybody! I just wanted to say hello before Strictly starts, I’ve got my little seat ready and I’ve been recovering,” she said.
Goodrem added: “I’m sorry I’m not there for this one but I’m giving it everything I’ve got to be there next week.”
Will Delta return to Strictly next week?
Under the show’s rules, Goodrem has been given a bye through to next week, meaning she did not face elimination during Icons Week.
The rib injury has already put her in hospital twice.
Last Saturday, Goodrem and Widdrington topped the leaderboard with 33 points for a Disco-themed Salsa, scoring the first nine of the series, so fans are hoping to see her make her return.
