Nintendo Switch

The Nintendo Switch is a home gaming console developed by Nintendo and released in 2017. The cutting edge design allows it to be docked and used as a home console and played on a TV screen, or converted into a handheld gaming device. The eighth generation console competed with the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Popular titles for the Nintendo Switch include The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Mario Odyssey, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Pokemon Sword and Shield and Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The console represents an attempt by senior Nintendo figures including Shigeru Miyamoto to revamp Nintendo’s business model after several years of declining sales and poor uptake for the Wii U, the predecessor to the Switch.
