Man raped in Plymouth

A 23-year-old man was raped in the city of Plymouth on Friday night.

The victim, from Newton Abbot, was visiting his girlfriend at the time of the attack.

Police arrested a 60-year-old local man in connection with the incident.

Officers were called to an address in Fore Street, Devonport at around 11:25pm on Friday, after being alerted that a serious sexual offence had taken place.

The 60-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of rape and taken to Charles Cross Police Station where he was questioned and later released on police bail to return on May 5th.
