Bruno Mars denies gay rumours
A representative for Bruno Mars has dismissed a series of reports yesterday that the singer had come out of the closet.
The rumours first began when CNN iReport, which is the arm of the network that serves as a platform for ‘citizen journalists’, carried a story that read:Â “The famous pop-star Bruno Mars admits his homosexuality.” Subsequently, the star’s name began to trend on Twitter.
Then, a second unnamed source reported that the singer had “admitted to a small Chicago radio station” of his homosexuality under the guise of an April Fools’ Day joke, in order to test the response, and then eventually came out.
According to the report, Mars is quoted as saying: “The timing is bad… I hadn’t realized it was April Fool’s Day, but it’s been pointed out to me, and I don’t want to go too public with this.”
The singer’s representative called these reports “completely fabricated” and “false.”
