UK: Brighton Pride announces Fringe Festival plans
The organisers of this year’s Brighton Pride have announced further details of the event including a change in management and participation in Brighton’s Fringe Festival.
On Tuesday, Brighton & Hove Pride said: “Brighton’s famous Pride festival and its associated events are now operated by Brighton Pride CIC with directors Paul Kemp, Dulcie Danger and David Hill who are all working to make this 23rd anniversary year the most successful and memorable Pride ever.
“Management of the event has been streamlined and restructured to make the organisation more efficient and business-like so that it may operate and serve Pride more effectively. New developments always require change and Pride would like to take this opportunity to thank Trevor Edwards for his work and contribution to Pride events over a number of years and wish him all the best with his future endeavours.”
Brighton Pride is set to take part in the Brighton Fringe Festival this year for the very first time with a star-studded season of special Pride Gala shows at the Ladyboys Sabai Pavilion during the May fringe festival.
Last month, Brighton Pride announced this year’s theme would be ‘Gay Icons’.
The main festival takes place on Saturday 3 August.
Early bird tickets are available now for £8.50 from local LGBT venues and for £9 online via the Brighton Pride website.
