Two Sussex teenagers have been fined after they attacked a gay man in the town of Battle.

The Battle-based teens – who cannot be named for legal reasons – are aged 15 and 16.

They attacked the man at 8.30pm on March 14 this year, when he was walking down Battle High Street.

The pair, who were charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm following the incident, appeared in Eastbourne Youth Court this month.

According to the Argus, the pair were ordered to pay £100 in compensation, £85 in costs and a £15 victim surcharge.

They were also the subject of a 12-month referral order to the Youth Offending Panel.
