College professor blames gay marriage on ‘Obama’s homo uprising’
A college professor in the US state of Pennsylvania has drawn heavy criticism for posting homophobic comments on Facebook.
The US Supreme Court earlier this month ruled that all couples, straight or gay, have a constitutional right to marriage.
Kaukab Siddique, who is an English professor at Lincoln University, wrote on Facebook that the decision by the top US court was down to “Obama’s homo uprising”.
The professor also asked on Facebook this month about the reason behind many of those who accused Bill Cosby sexual assault, suggesting it is because “many women are sluts”.
A third post also commented on “dirty Jewish Zionist White Supremacist thugs.”
The university currently has no plans to take action about the posts.
“His latest activities, like his earlier writings, statements and activities, are an insult to women and other groups singled out,” the university said in a statement.
“Like all faculty members, he is entitled to express his personal views in conversation or in public forums, as long as he does not present such opinions as the views of the university.”
The 72 year old in 2010 also questioned the Holocaust, and called for the destruction of Israel.
The university is about 45 minutes outside of Philadelphia and receives partial state-funding.
A business professor at a different university lost his job earlier this week after writing on Facebook that gays should be hanged.
Rick Coupland, a business professor from St Lawrence College in Kingston, Ontario, was investigated after he made the comments on Facebook.
