The filmā€™s famous ā€˜quit youā€™ scene has been re-enacted to raise money for the elderly community.

Two senior citizens have taken the roles of Ennis and Jack in the latest interpretation of legendary Oscar-winning film Brokeback Mountain.

The pair filmed their own version of the movieā€™s ā€˜I wish I knew how to quit youā€™ scene in a bid to raise money for their local community.

A video of the pairā€™s hilarious performance was posted on YouTube by openly gay activist and charity worker Matthew Hoffman.

Hoffman is founder of ā€˜Tuesdays With Matthewā€™, an ingenious, feel-good volunteer group for the elder generation, that sees them recreate iconic scenes from popular movies.

Although the groupā€™s main aim is to raise money ā€“ and have lots of fun while doing it ā€“ Hoffman says he likes to make the scenes as realistic as possible, hunting down scenery, props and costumes for his ā€˜starsā€™.

Money raised from the video is donated to Hoffmanā€™s local community centre and Meals On Wheels ā€“ an organisation that helps provide meals to the elderly.

And weā€™re sure that original star of the movie, Jake Gyllenhaal, would love the filmā€™s latest interpretation.

The actor recently said that he thinks the film industry is becoming increasingly gay-friendly.

He spoke a decade after starring as Jack Twist in the iconic gay film, to reflect on the LGBT communityā€™s advances in general, and said he hopes it will have a positive affect on Hollywood.

ā€œI think it is changing and itā€™s pretty amazing how itā€™s changing. And one of the things that Iā€™m so proud of that movie, was to see, within the past basically 10 years, how much has changed.

ā€œWhen the Supreme Court [issued a ruling] just a little while ago, I felt like we had been part, a little part and parcel of that movement. I was proud, you know?ā€ he added.

ā€œTo me thatā€™s really a pretty incredible moment. We had to wait a little while for it. But when will it be OK for an actor to be gay? I mean, itā€™s OK now.ā€

Gyllenhaal earlier this year paid an emotional tribute to late co-star Heath Ledger.

The star opened up about his ā€œbest friendā€ Ledger, who died of an accidental drug overdose at age 28.
