Anti-LGBT criticism is all Satan’s fault!
The American Family Association has hit out at criticism of anti-LGBT laws, saying it’s the work of Satan.
Appearing on Focus Today, National Field Director, Rob Chambers, said that the only reason there was so much resentment towards laws passed in North Carolina and Mississippi was because of the Devil.
“This is spiritual warfare,” he told the show’s host, Steve Johnson.
“Satan is not bound by good, certainly, but basically distorts truth and he is a master of that.
“I believe the media, Hollywood, they understand what this bill, or new law, actually does but they are distorting it because that’s the only way that Satan plays and Satan will try to attempt to win is through deceit and deception.”
Chambers was responding to the fact a number of companies, including PayPal, had decided to pull out of North Carolina and performers were cancelling gigs in both the Tar Heel State and Mississippi.
Since passing HB2, North Carolina has faced fierce criticism and has been forced to partly backdown.
Earlier this month, Governor Pat McCrory signed an executive order to limit the remit of the act, but refused to seek its repeal.
In Mississippi, the Governor claimed its bill was necessary in order to prevent churches from closing. It has faced the same backlash as North Carolina, with a number of entertainers saying they won’t perform in the state until the law is revoked.
A large number of other states, including Tennessee and South Carolina, currently have anti-LGBT laws on their books.
Others have increased protections, creating a national divide over the issue.
