HBO Max drops tantalising Legendary season 2 trailer and confirms A-list guest judges

Jameela Jamil and Megan Thee Stallion on Legendary season 2

Legendary season two is coming to HBO Max with a gag-worthy roster of guest judges and an incredible slate of contestants.

The reality show competition, which sees legendary (geddit?) ballroom houses compete to win a $100,000 prize, is back for a second season.

Jameela Jamil, Megan Thee Stallion, stylist Law Roach and ballroom legend Leiomy Maldonado are all back as judges, with Dashaun Wesley as MC.

Joining them will be stars including Demi Lovato, Adam Lambert, Tiffany Haddish, Taraji P. Henson and Normani.

In season two, 10 houses will compete: Balenciaga, Chanel, Garcon, Icon, Luxe, Milan, Mugler, Oricci, Prodigy and Tisci.

Legendary HBO Max release date confirmed

The ballroom series will return on 6 May only on HBO Max.

There are a few notable contestants joining this season. Honey Balenciaga featured in the first season’s superhero themed ball as one of the super-villains, where she won against the season’s contestants.

Prince Miyake-Mugler previously made her reality TV debut as part of Vogue Evolution on America’s Best Dance Crew, which included judge Maldonado and host Dashaun Wesley.

Some might recognise the House of Mugler’s Tati, who has appeared in Viceland’s My House. Stasha Garcon was also crowned Miss Continental in 2018.

Season one was performed in front of a large studio audience, which is considered by many as integral to a ballroom performance. However, the finale had to go ahead without an audience due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

While it is yet to be confirmed whether season two will be filmed in front of an audience, there doesn’t seem to be one in the trailer.

The newly released trailer stated: “Season two is back and fiercer than ever! Ten new houses are ready to show their moves and leave it all on the floor, but only the best will be deemed Legendary.”

The first season, which hit screens in June 2020, featured a number of superstar guest judges including model Winnie Harlow, Kelly Osbourne and Celebrity Big Brother winner Tamar Braxton.

Last season, five queens from eight houses competed, with the House of Balmain taking the crown.

The show’s fans can’t wait for its return. One tweeted: “Between this and Pose, living room ballroom is back.”
