Truffle Shuffle has teamed up with Andersen Press, who publish the popular children’s book for the special edition Elmer Pride t-shirt.
They say: “We’ve taken inspiration from the books message of celebrating everyone’s true colours with this rainbow-filled slogan tee featuring the world’s most colourful elephant.”
It will see them give 100 per cent of proceeds to charity Just Like Us, who empower young people to make education more inclusive.
Their annual initiative, School Diversity Week, educates school staff and pupils across the UK to tackle homophobic, biphobic, and transphobic bullying by organising activities that celebrate LGBT+ equality.
It will return for 2021 between 21-25 June, which is expected to see more than 2,000 schools around the UK join in with the event.
The week will include resources from Just Like Us featuring Elmer, whose books have a message of celebrating everyone’s true colours, acceptance and inclusivity.
The character was created by David McKee over 30 years ago and has since been named an LGBT+ hero, as well as selling more than eight million copies worldwide and having been translated into more than 50 languages.
The website has also released limited edition Pride t-shirts featuring other popular animated characters, SpongeBob Squarepants, the Moomins and Rainbow Brite.
They feature slogans including ‘Love is Love’, ‘Choose Love’ and ‘Always Be Yourself’ and are priced at £19.99 each.
Truffle Shuffle will also donate 100 per cent of those t-shirt sales between Just Like Us and Stonewall to support their work towards LGBT+ equality.
Other recent Pride clothing collections include Boohoo, which launched a range of affordable Pride clothing in May.
