Caitlyn Jenner bags new job at Fox News, so get ready for the hot takes absolutely nobody wants
Caitlyn Jenner has a new job as a Fox News contributor.
Having made a number of appearances on the network, mostly to rally against trans athletes, it’s been announced that the former Olympian and failed politician will regularly be sharing her views on the right-wing news station, starting with an appearance on Hannity on Thursday (31 March).
In a statement to Deadline, Caitlyn Jenner said she is “humbled by this unique opportunity to speak directly to Fox News Media’s millions of viewers about a range of issues that are important to the American people”.
Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott added: “Caitlyn’s story is an inspiration to us all. She is a trailblazer in the LGBTQ+ community and her illustrious career spans a variety of fields that will be a tremendous asset for our audience.”Caitlyn Jenner speaks to the media after casting her vote in the California recall election (Robyn Beck/AFP/Getty)
Caitlyn Jenner came out in 2015, immediately becoming the world’s most famous trans woman.
Having repeatedly used her platform to push a right-wing agenda, her stock among the LGBT+ community is as low as it’s ever been.
In recent months, Jenner has doubled down on her opposition to trans women taking part in sports, stating that “we have to protect women’s sports”.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Jenner, who has competed in a women’s golf tournament, said trans women and girls should not play for women’s teams, and asserted that she believes in strict binary sex.
Jenner has also railed against “cancel culture” in the interview, criticising the Brit Awards’ move to create gender-neutral award categories.
Jenner recently launched a motorsport racing team. Prior to that she attempted to pivot to politics, failing to unseat California governor Gavin Newsom in a Republican-driven recall election. She managed to get just one per cent of the votes.
