Snow White star Rachel Zegler changed the lyrics of an iconic song from Evita during a public balcony performance to mark Pride in London.
Pride in London took place on Saturday (5 July) and attracted tens of thousands of attendees, including many celebrities such as JADE, Naomi Campbell and Paloma Faith, to name a few.
In support of the event, Zegler , who is currently starring as Eva Perón in the West End revival of Evita at the London Palladium, changed the words to “On the Balcony of The Casa Rosada/Don’t Cry For Me Argentina ”.
Instead of reciting “when the crowds sing songs of glory,” Zelger said, “when they sing songs of Pride and glory.”
The actress beamed brightly as she belted out the new wording to the applause of the crowd below.

The song is a turning point in the musical where Perón addresses the Argentine people from the presidential palace balcony. It’s a moment where the character solidifies her image as a devoted leader.
Comments under a clip of the moment praise Zegler for supporting Pride in London, with one person writing, “The look of pride on her face.”
“‘I was once as you are now’ to a group of queer people makes it sound like Eva was coming out,” another observed of the moment.
“This girl can perform,” another said, while another commented, “bro I was there, she was so impressive.”
At the start of the year, Zegler reacted to a claim that she’s romantically “obsessed” with her co-star Kit Connor, who also plays Nick Nelson in hit LGBTQ+ Netflix series Heartstopper.
“I think Rachel is so obsessed with Kit Connor in a romantic way not just a friend way,” read one fan comment on Instagram. To which Zegler replied, succinctly: “No! moving on.”
