Alex Consani is unapologetically herself. The model told viewers that she no longer feels “embarrassed” about her identity, and now feels “powerful and strong” as a trans woman.

Consani made history as one of the first out trans models to walk the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show and win the Model of the Year gong. However, the star recently revealed that “it’s always been difficult” for her to admit that she’s a trans woman.

As part of a Speed Dating video interview with herself for Them Magazine, Consani asked herself, “What’s something you used to be embarrassed by but now you’re low-key proud of?”

To this, the fashion icon responded: “Probably just owning being trans… There’s nothing wrong with that.

“And I think now more than ever, I feel powerful and I feel strong and I feel empowered to be who I am, and I think there’s nothing sexier than being ‘different’ but owning it,” she concluded.

Elsewhere in the interview, the star gave the rundown on her dating red flags. “I think showing up late or making me wait more than five minutes [is a red flag],” she said.

“Call me a diva down, but girl, I have places to go. I could have been at iFly with my homegirls, you know?

“People do fun things, and now I’m wasting my time waiting for you outside of a restaurant or wherever. Take me to iFly.”

It’s not the first time Consani has spoken out about her dating worries, previously telling the outlet that she has to be cautious of people’s “intentions”
