Queer adult film star Lane V Rogers, who was known by his stage name Blake Mitchell, posted a poignant message to his 400,000 Instagram followers days before being killed in a motorcycle accident.
The OnlyFans performer died in a motorcycle crash on Monday 15 December, his family confirmed to TMZ yesterday (17 December). He was 31.
Posting on his Instagram account last week, Rogers shared a video skit of his 2025 self “explaining the last 5 years” to his 2020 self.
The eerily poignant video was overlaid with Sombr’s viral hit “Back To Friends”, with Rogers reflecting on his career in the video’s caption.
“Frankly I’d still do it all again… with some changes haha,” he wrote.
In the comment section, Rogers’ fans remarked on his heartbreaking last video, with one writing: “This is such a sad final post.”
“We are ALL going to miss you so much sweetheart,” wrote RuPaul’s Drag Race star Laganja Estranga.
In a statement to TMZ, a relative of Rogers said that his wider family was at an “absolute loss for words” following his death.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), emergency services responded to a crash between a motorcycle and a box truck just before 4pm on Monday in Oxnard Plain, a coastal area near Thousand Oaks in California. Rogers died at the scene.
The adult film star died as a result of blunt force head injuries and his death was ruled accidental, a spokesperson for the Ventura County Medical Examiner told PEOPLE.
The cause of the accident, and whether any drugs or alcohol were involved, is still being investigated.
Lane began his adult film career back in 2014, performing in webcam shows. Speaking on the Back to Your Story podcast in 2023, the performer recalled being contacted by his “favourite gay studio” early in his webcamming career, and decided to become a full-time adult content creator instead of attending college.
After starring in numerous X-rated studio films, Lane ended up sharing explicit content via OnlyFans, where he grew his audience substantially.
News of his death has sent shockwaves through the gay adult film industry.
“@LaneVRogers was one of my longest friends in LA, and was such a genuinely kind and caring person,” wrote one OnlyFans content creator on X, formerly Twitter.
“He made everyone around him better, and I’m deeply saddened to lose him. I was supposed to see him the day after his passing, life changes so fast and I’m grateful that our last conversation was full of the love and friendship we shared. I will miss you so much.”
A writer at an adult film industry news site, writing under the name Zach, said he was in a “f***** up combination” of both “shock” and “disbelief”.
“I hope to share more later, including reactions from industry colleagues and peers, but right now, these words swirl in my head when I think of Lane: Relentlessly loyal, opinionated, brutally honest yet fair, forgiving, level-headed, hilarious, inquisitive, ethical, and endlessly full of life,” Zahk wrote.
“He so sincerely wanted everyone to be better and saw the good in everyone. He was among the brightest and most ambitious people I’ve ever known. Lane’s friendship over the last 10 years is one of the greatest gifts that running this website has ever given me.”
Lane Rogers is one of several LGBTQ+ adult film stars to pass away in 2025, following the tragic deaths of Koby Falks, Roman Mercury, Colton Ford, Tim Kruger, Damien Stone, and just last month, Scott Finn.
