Jodie Foster has reflected on working with Kristen Stewart in the 2002 thriller, Panic Room, and it seems it was pretty great.

Foster stepped into the role of Meg Altman after Nicole Kidman left David Fincher’s film due to a previously sustained injury.

An 11-year-old Stewart also stepped into her role as Sarah when Hayden Panettiere left the film.

Joining Variety recently for their Know Their Lines video series, Foster correctly guessed the line “Get the f*** out of my house” was from Panic Room.

Recalling her time with Stewart, Foster said she “absolutely loved” her the moment they met. “I was like, ‘Oh, she’s my mini-me,” she said.

She continued: “There was just something just amazing that I had just kind of fallen into this role where I got to be Kristen’s mom. And then we seemed so alike. We had the same haircut!

“I spent so much time with this kid at 11 years old in a tiny little room that was 8 feet by 14 feet, and I have never enjoyed being stuck in a closet with a person in my life so much as with Kristen Stewart as a kid.”

The Silence of the Lambs star said the pair often discussed music, with Stewart thinking U2 were a boy band. The couple would often have “fights about pop culture”, Foster went on to say.

“I always was like, ‘She’s gonna be so great when she grows up. But she’s not gonna be an actor, right? Because she doesn’t have that personality.

“‘She’s not somebody who wants to put a lampshade on her head. She doesn’t want to sing for Grandma or be the centre of attention. She doesn’t like being centre of attention.'”

Foster was also surprised that Stewart’s mum said the future Twilight star wanted to be an actor.

“I’m still shocked to this day that she’s an actor,” Foster added. “But now she’s a director, so who knows, she might be moving into her hyphenate.”
