Actor François Arnaud has just shared a first hint at what to expect from Heated Rivalry season 2, with confirmation that two beloved characters will return.
In a new interview, the bisexual actor teased he will be reprising his role as hockey captain Scott Hunter in the forthcoming second series. Additionally, he confirmed that Scott’s love interest, Kip Grady (played by Robbie G.K.), will also return.
“I can tell you that there’s more of Scott, but I can’t tell you in what capacity. There are various things at play,” Arnaud told WWD.
Though Arnaud didn’t spill much, his declaration that “there’s definitely more of Scott and Kip,” has delighted fans.

Arnaud and Robbie G.K. were the stars of Heated Rivalry episode 3. The show took a break from the romance of Ilya Rozanov (Connor Storrie) and Shane Hollander (Hudson Williams).
‘Definitely more of Scott and Kip’
The focus was on the sweet but rocky romance of Scott and Kip, dubbed ‘Skip’. There’s still plenty of the couple’s story left to adapt. In Common Goal, the fourth book in the Game Changer series written by Rachel Reid, Scott and Kip get married. Perhaps this moment will make it into Heated Rivalry season two.
In a February interview with the Los Angeles Times, series showrunner Tierney confirmed that fans can expect season two of Heated Rivalry to arrive in spring 2027.
“As much as I appreciate how rabid and interested people are at this point, the first season worked because I trusted my gut with this, and I’m going to do that again,” he said.

Season two of the show is set to focus on the sixth book in the series, The Long Game. Released in 2022, The Long Game returns to Shane and Ilya’s love story ten years after the events of Heated Rivalry. While they are still together, the pro sportsmen are still publicly closeted.
“Ten years. That’s how long Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov have been seeing each other. How long they’ve been keeping their relationship a secret. From friends, from family… from the league,” reads an official synopsis of the book.
“If Shane wants to stay at the top of his game, what he and Ilya share has to remain secret. He loves Ilya, but what if going public ruins everything?”
