Hudson Williams has addressed his close friendship with Heated Rivalry co-star Connor Storrie, saying they are “platonic soulmates”.
The 25-year-old actor appears on CBC’s The Assembly, an interview series where celebrities and public figures answer questions from interviewers on the autism spectrum. Williams’ episode aired on Sunday, 1 November 2026.
During the interview, the The Assembly interviewers asked him directly: “Did you ever feel something for Connor that was ‘more than friendship?’”
Williams replied: “No. Quickly, me and Connor realised we were, like, platonic soulmates, just completely in love with each other. I think that’s what made our friendship so stable and beautiful, is that we realised we could be completely ourselves, be completely guard down.”
He also described what that closeness looks like without it tipping into romance: “So, I think the thing that made our relationship as rich as it was is, like, me and that man could cuddle for 10 hours, and it just mean cuddling, just means we just love each other dearly, but don’t wanna beep each other’s bop.”
Williams then added: “That’s not a saying,” prompting laughter from the interviewers.
Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie’s friendship
Williams’ off-screen dynamic with Storrie has long been a talking point, with viewers closely watching interviews and appearances for hints about their bond.
The actor, who is in a relationship with tattoo artist Katelyn Larson, has previously called out fans “shipping” him with his co-stars in “RPF”, which is “Real Person Fiction”. In May, after he and Storrie made their Met Gala debuts, he said on Threads: “Rpfing gotta stop y’all.”

He and other co-stars, including François Arnaud, previously called out so-called fans after their quick rise to stardom saw them become the targets of racist, biphobic and other discriminatory abuse.
In an Instagram statement, the cast said: “Don’t call yourself a fan if you share racist/homophobic/biphobic/misogynist/ageist/ableist/parasocial/bigoted comments of any kind.
“None of us need your hateful ‘love’. We all respect and support and love each other and are on the same side. If you can’t accept that gtfoh [get the f*** outta here].”
It followed intense speculation about their personal lives and relationships, with some theorising there were romantic connections among some of them.
Closeness on Heated Rivalry
Williams and Storrie have spoken about how close their friendship is, with the duo even getting matching tattoos. However, they have also spoke about how the consciously choose not to attend too many of the same events, so they aren’t always paired together by fans.
The show has also drawn attention for how candid its cast have been about what they were willing to do on screen. In October, creator Jacob Tierney said the stars were “very game” to go full-frontal in season one, but he chose not to include it.
Season two started production earlier this year, with a handful of new cast members confirmed in recent months.
