Heartstopper’s Joe Locke debuts new tattoo after ‘summer of fun’

Heartstopper star Joe Locke has revealed a tiny duck tattoo tucked beneath his armpit in a look back at his summer on Instagram.
The 22-year-old actor captioned the post: “Summer of friends, fun, and duck tattoos in Ibiza.” The final image in the carousel shows the small duck design placed just under his arm.
The photo dump also includes snaps with fellow Heartstopper actor Tobie Donovan, as well as Locke’s friend Dylan Mulvaney, plus a shot of Locke treating his mum to a ride on the Orient Express, which he previously spoke about on Fearne Cotton’s Happy Place podcast.
Locke is also pictured hanging out with Dutch politician Rob Jetten, who became The Netherlands’ first out gay – and youngest – prime minister in February this year.
Fans spot the duck tattoo
Online reaction to the tattoo followed quickly, with fans flooding the comment section.
“What a perfect summer,” one said. “The duck tattoo is so cute btw.” Another said: “That duck tattoo is perfect.”
A third commented: “This is how people should show their first tats all the time btw.” Someone else added: “Imagine hating on Joe Locke and he is just here getting a duck tattoo. I acc love you so much.”
Meanwhile, others were more appreciative of the body shot.
What’s next for Joe Locke
Locke rose to global fame playing Charlie Spring in Netflix’s Heartstopper, a landmark teen series centred on queer love and coming-of-age.
The series came to an end earlier this year with movie Heartstopper Forever, which showed a more mature side of Charlie and Nick, played by Kit Connor.
Speaking to PinkNews, Locke and Connor spoke of the “beautiful” intimacy scenes in the film.
Locke also has two upcoming projects, Elsinore and Black Church Bay. In Black Church Bay, Locke plays a student who goes missing after a weekend spent with his teacher, who then tries to hide his secret double life.
The actor is also rumoured to be involved in a new body horror, in which he is said to be playing a pregnant sex worker.
