Kelly Osbourne says she disagrees with mum Sharon’s ‘sad’ trans issue stance

Kelly Osbourne has opened up about her differences with mum Sharon Osbourne, revealing that the pair do not see eye to eye on Tommy Robinson or issues affecting the trans community.
Speaking to Attitude at the 2026 National Television Awards, Kelly was asked about Sharon’s apparent support for Robinson and the far-right rally he promoted in London.
Kelly responded: “I don’t agree. I don’t agree with my mum, no,” making it clear that she does not share Sharon’s views, while acknowledging that disagreeing with someone you love can be complicated.
The conversation then turned to Sharon’s views on trans people, with Kelly saying she had been surprised to discover that their opinions were not as closely aligned as she had previously thought. “I thought she had the same opinion as me,” she said.
Kelly has long spoken about her support for the trans community, saying: “It was the trans community that taught me about bravery.” She continued: “For me, that is my world. And to be born in a body that doesn’t belong to you, I couldn’t imagine anything worse.”
She suggested that some of Sharon’s views may come from a lack of understanding or personal experience of trans people.
“I don’t know if my mum knows enough trans people to make a fair judgement,” she said, adding that Sharon is more open to hearing her perspective when they discuss the subject privately.
The comments come after Sharon faced criticism over previous remarks concerning trans people, including her views on gender-affirming healthcare and trans women competing in women’s sport.
Despite their political differences, Kelly made it clear that she and her mum remain close, with her comments offering a glimpse into how the pair navigate having conflicting views on issues that are particularly important to her.
