Marvel’s X-Men reboot finds its Angel as Gen V and Scream star reportedly joins cast

Asa Germann is reportedly set to play Warren Worthington III, aka Angel, in Marvel Studios’ new X-Men film, due in cinemas on 5 May 2028.
Germann is said to be in final talks for a “high flying key role” in the reboot, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The actor is best known for playing Sam Riordan in Prime Video’s Gen V, a spin-off of The Boys, and he has also appeared in Scream 7.
Germann had previously been rumoured for the role of Cyclops, which ultimately went to Heartstopper‘s Kit Connor.
And while Connor eventually got the role of Cyclops, Germann reportedly impressed producer Kevin Fiege enough that he was offered the other role.
The cast already confirmed for the project includes Connor as Cyclops, Sadie Sink as Jean Grey (debuting the role in this year’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day), Christopher Abbott as Professor X, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Inde Navarrette as Rogue, Maya Boyd as Storm, and Adam Driver as the villain Mr Sinister.
The screenplay is written by Lee Sung Jin and Joanna Calo. Jake Schreier is directing the film.
Angel character details
Angel is one of the classic X-Men characters, best known for the super-strengh feathered wings that allow him to fly. Due to the makeup of his body, he carries no excess fat and has more muscle mass than most.
He has often been seen to have some healing powers, but it’s not clear whether they will be included in the reboot.
In the comics, the character later takes a darker turn as Archangel after being transformed by Apocalypse. As Archangel, his wings are made of a razor sharp metallic matter, which he can also use to shoot metal feathers.
Angel has appeared on film before, played by Ben Foster in 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand and Ben Hardy in 2016’s X-Men: Apocalypse.
