‘Relentless’ manhunt launched after three men stabbed outside Liverpool LGBTQ+ venue

Police have launched a “relentless” manhunt after three men were stabbed near Liverpool city centre’s G-Bar in the early hours of 20 September.
All three were taken to hospital, with two in stable condition and a third suffering minor injuries.
Officers were called to Tithebarn Street shortly after 6.30 am, where the victims were found injured and are now appealing for information.
Police said a suspected weapon had been recovered and would be forensically examined as enquiries continued.
Detective Chief Inspector Lisa McNaughton said: “We understand the concern that such a serious incident will cause in the community. This is why it is so vital that anyone with information comes forward as a matter of urgency.
“The consequences of this incident could have been even worse, so be assured that we will relentlessly pursue the offender.”
What police say happened
Merseyside Police said the incident is thought to have unfolded outside G-Bar on Eberle Street following an “altercation”.
McNaughton also urged witnesses to come forward, saying: “If you saw or captured any part of this incident, let us know, and we will take action.”
A cordon was reported to be in place on Tithebarn Street, Eberle Street and Temple Lane while enquiries continued.
G-Bar and the witness appeal
G-Bar opened in 1996 and describes itself as “one of Liverpool’s most iconic and enduring LGBT+ venues”.
Police said they would increase their presence in the area while enquiries continue.
A manhunt was reported to be underway as officers appealed for anyone with information or footage to help identify the person responsible.
