Two men and teen charged after multiple stabbing outside Liverpool LGBTQ+ bar

Three men aged 18, 22 and 31 have been charged after three people were stabbed following an alleged altercation linked to Liverpool LGBTQ+ venue GBar.
Officers were called to Tithebarn Street in Liverpool city centre shortly after 6.30am on Saturday morning, where three victims were found injured. The three were taken to hospital and one was reported to remain in a “stable condition”.
Merseyside Police said it is thought the incident unfolded outside GBar on Eberle Street following an “altercation” between two groups inside the venue. Police had earlier launched a “relentless” manhunt to locate those involved in the early hours of 20 September.
Patrick Morgan, 31, and Jonny Gee, 18, were charged with two counts of Section 18 wounding with intent, violent disorder and possession of a bladed article. Stephen Gee, 22, was charged with one count of Section 18 wounding, violent disorder and possession of Class B controlled drugs.
All three appeared at Wirral Magistrates Court on the morning of 23 September.
Since, the venue has had its license suspended, according to the BBC, with the Liverpool Echo reporting it has been shut with immediate effect.
What police say happened
Liverpool BCU Chief Superintendent Natalie Perischine said: “We have a zero-tolerance approach to anyone who chooses to carry a weapon in the city centre and my message to those individuals is ‘we will hunt you down’.”
Perischine added: “Officers have been working round the clock to identify those responsible for this shocking incident in the early hours of Sunday morning. Within hours of it taking place we had executed a number of warrants and now have three people in custody.”
She said: “We know how important it is that people who live, work and socialise in Liverpool city centre, feel safe and I want the public to be reassured that we are doing everything in our powers to find violent criminals and put them behind bars.”
There has been no suggestion from police about what caused the altercation between the two groups.
