Chris Salvatore says OnlyFans left him feeling ‘empty’ as he steps back from adult content

Chris Salvatore has said he is taking a break from OnlyFans after four years, explaining that making adult content left him feeling “empty”.

Speaking in an Out interview, the actor said the work no longer felt aligned with who he is. “I did OnlyFans for like four years,” he said. “It’s a tough industry. It can wear on you. Over those four years, I’ve learned that I’m really not meant for it.”

Salvatore said he started on the platform because he needed money after his dog required surgery for a broken leg. “Times were tough. My dog needed surgery on his broken leg and I needed cash,” he said.

Why Chris Salvatore says he needed a break from OnlyFans

Salvatore framed his decision around boundaries and what he wants from intimacy. “There’s no judgement on my end, but I needed to take a break. I’m more of a demisexual,” he said. “I really honor connection before intimacy, especially now, being in my 40s.”

He also spoke about the practical reality of filming adult scenes. “It was hard to show up on set and just go to town,” he said. “After I recognized that, it started to affect me quite a bit.”

He added: “It can be taxing physically and emotionally on different types of people. More power to the ones who are doing amazing at it! …I would feel empty afterwards.”

Salvatore stressed the pause is not necessarily permanent. “This break might not be forever, but I’m trying to do projects that make me feel good and lift me up,” he said.

Salvatore has also announced his role in new horror film Scorch Marks.

What is Scorch Marks, and who does Salvatore play?

Salvatore is returning to acting in Scorch Marks, a queer apocalyptic survival horror film now streaming on Dekkoo. In the film, Beckett (Brandon Shypkowski) wakes up to what looks like a ruined world, only to realise he is trapped alongside the eerie presence of his abusive ex-husband, Joel (played by Salvatore).

“I come back from the pits of hell to haunt my ex-husband! It’s a really fun film, but it highlights the scary parts of toxic relationships. We all have a story like that. It’s really different from what I’ve done before. I’m used to playing the boy next door, so I hope people see me in a different light,” Salvatore said.

Similarly, in 2021, American actor Tyler Posey said doing OnlyFans was “mentally draining” and made him “feel like an object”.
