Celine Dion falls on stage during Paris residency show

Gay icon Celine Dion fell over on stage during a show of her comeback residency in Paris on Wednesday (7 October).

The 58-year-old “My Heart Will Go On” hitmaker slipped over and collapsed to the ground midway through her 1998 song “Dans un autre monde.”

Dion was skipping across the stage at the Plenitude Arena in Nanterre when she lost her balance. It looked like the star tripped over her right leg and fell to the floor.

Luckily, Dion recovered quickly and was unharmed by the fall. She quickly got back up on her feet and gave the crowd a thumbs-up.

Later in the performance, Dion was performing her 1995 track “Pour que tu m’aimes encore” and forgot the lyrics.

She said as such to the audience, prompting attendees to sing with her. Dion appeared moved by the help, saying: “Thank goodness you’re here. It made my heart swell. It touched me so deeply.”

In 2022, Dion was diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome (SPS), a rare autoimmune neurological disorder that affects muscles, causing stiffness and painful spasms.

The first show of her Paris residency (12 September) was Dion’s first full-length concert since March 8, 2020.

At her first show back, Dion told the crowd: “There are many of you here tonight from all over the world

‘Thank you so very much for your support’

“Thank you so very much for coming. If it’s your first time in Paris, I hope you fall in love with it, just like I did. Finally, it’s amazing we are all together.

“I made a promise to come back, to be back on stage. So here I am, singing for you and singing for me, singing life!

“Thank you so very much for your support, your patience and if I may say so: I am everything I am because you loved me.”

Her Courage tour was postponed because of COVID-19, and then the rescheduled dates were cancelled because of the singer’s health complications

Dion has a few performances remaining before she wraps the current 26-date leg of her Celine Dion Paris 2026–2027 residency on October 17.
