Strictly Come Dancing has confirmed Delta Goodrem has been given the all clear to dance again this weekend, after missing last Saturday’s live show with a rib injury.
In an Instagram post, the BBC show announced: “Following her bye last week due to injury, we’re delighted to confirm Delta has been given the all clear to dance again this weekend.”
The update means the Australian singer, 41, will return to the competition on Saturday night with professional partner Kai Widdrington. Goodrem sat out Icons Week after sustaining a rib injury and was granted a bye into the following week. She watched the show from home, getting emotional after the hosts gave her a loving shout-out.
The BBC’s statement added: “She’ll return to the Strictly ballroom on Saturday night, and Abi Clarke will pop into her rehearsal room for a chat on Training Room Diaries on Wednesday evening.”
Delta Goodrem misses Icons Week
Goodrem’s absence was confirmed last week after she was advised by doctors to rest and recover, with the bye allowing her and Widdrington to automatically go through to the next live show. Dame Sarah Storey was eliminated, while Cach Mercer and Jaime Winstone both topped the leaderboard.
On the Strictly spin-off It Takes Two last week, presenter Ellie Taylor read out a statement from Goodrem, in which she said: “I’m absolutely gutted that a rib injury means I won’t be able to dance on Strictly this week.”

Widdrington also spoke about taking things carefully as they return, saying on It Takes Two: “We’re going to slow things down a little next week and ease back into it. But as Delta reminded me today on FaceTime, ‘it always has to be iconic.’”
Delta’s Strictly run so far
Goodrem and Widdrington have been among the strongest pairings so far, averaging 30.7 per dance across their first three routines.
They were at the top of the leaderboard when scores were combined for weeks one and two, and were also at the top on week three.
Three celebrities have been eliminated so far – Chris Appleton, Melanie Walters, and Sarah Storey.
Strictly Come Dancing returns on Saturday at 6:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
