Sugar and Spice to find out what women want
The Lesbian and Gay Foundation are planning to mark this year’s International Women’s Week with a free conference in Manchester.
The conference is the centre of Sugar and Spice, an event providing live music, lesbian films, speakers and informal discussions.
It will be held in Manchester on Saturday 3rd March.
The event focuses on the question of what lesbian and bisexual women want in the modern world.
Organiser Annie Emery says, “The Sugar and Spice conference is a fantastic opportunity for lesbian and bisexual women to get together to share information and exchange ideas about what their needs are in 21st Century Britain.
“With key speakers talking about services currently provided for women, discussions will then be generated about how to take these services forward with input from women themselves.
“It will also be a great place to meet up, chat and chill over a coffee, indulge in a holistic therapy, watch a film or pick up a unique gift, all in a safe and welcoming LGB space.”
Sugar and Spice will also provide a marketplace selling a variety of toys, as well as the most recent useful information for lesbians and bisexual women.
The event will take place at The Lesbian Gay Foundation building located in the heart of Manchester’s gay Village at Princess House, 105-107 Princess Street.
The event will be open to the public all day, but in order to attend the conference from, 2pm to 4pm, visitors are asked to contact Judith Spangenberg.
