Man carjacked and left half-naked at gay cruising spot
A man who was tricked into removing his trousers was carjacked at a gay cruising spot near Coventry.
Leamington Crown Court heard that the victim, 45, began speaking to a younger man while parked in a layby on the A45 near the Stonebridge roundabout in Coventry.
The younger man asked him to remove his trousers and underwear, which the victim did. Then, the younger man and another man got into the car and dragged the victim out of the vehicle, leaving him at the side of the road.
The victim, who still had his mobile phone, called police to report the theft of his car and Lewis Harding, 19, was arrested when he was seen driving the vehicle the following day.
According to the Coventry Telegraph, Harding, of Kingshurst, denied the robbery but was found guilty by a majority jury verdict. He has previous convictions for grievous bodily harm and theft.
Judge Robert Orme indicated that Harding would be sent to jail for several years and praised the victim for coming forward.
