Video: Musician Paloma Faith comes @Out4Marriage
British singer-songwriter Paloma Faith has added her voice to the Out4Marriage campaign for equality in marriage between gay and straight couples.
Faith, whose hits have included New York and Upside Down from the platinum-selling Do You Want the Truth or Something Beautiful? said sexual orientation and gender identity should be as irrelevant as race in marriage.
Paloma Faith said: “I’m Paloma Faith and I’m really proud to be backing the Out4Marriage campaign. I don’t think it matters whether you’re black, white, Asian, straight, gay, bisexual, whatever you are, you should have the right to get married. I stand strongly behind that and I think that everyone deserves to be equal. And that is why I’m supporting the Out4Marriage campaign.”
Supporters of the Out4Marriage campaign so far include the Home Secretary Theresa May, Sir Richard Branson, the Virgin founder; The Saturdays girl group; Jack Straw, the former Foreign Secretary; David Walliams, the Britain’s Got Talent judge; Yvette Cooper, the shadow Home Secretary; Caroline Lucas, the leader of the Green party; Lynne Featherstone, the Lib Dem Equalities Minister; Peter Tatchell, the gay rights campaigner; Lord (Chris) Smith), the Advertising Standards Authority chairman and Rabbi Ariel Friedlander.
