Steve Martin kills gay ‘Father of the Bride 3’ rumours
Actor Steve Martin has put an end to rumours about a third instalment of the Father of the Bride franchise, which had been rumoured to include a gay son, saying he knows nothing about it.
Yesterday reports stated that the film, Father of the Bride 3, would see Martin return to the big screen as George Banks, alongside Diane Keaton as his wife, and that the couple would struggle with the news that their son planned to marry the son of a US Navy Seal.
Today the comic star tweeted to debunk the rumours, stating that he had heard nothing about the film.
He tweeted: “So excited to read I’m doing Father of the Bride 3 since I haven’t seen a script or been offered the role!”
The report stated that the film would see original director and co-writer Charles Shyer in charge.
