Tom Daley’s plane forced to make emergency landing in Russia
A plane carrying diving star Tom Daley has had to make an emergency landing in Russia.
The Olympic diver, who last week came fourth at the diving World Cup in Shanghai, was on his way back to the UK for the Commonwealth games today, when he was caught in mid-air drama.
A Virgin Atlantic flight he was on had to dump its fuel in mid-air above Russia and make an emergency landing.
He tweeted an hour ago: “Scary to emergency land in RUS after recent events, yet no word on what problem is after hour surrounded by fire engines #VirginAtlantic.”

His boyfriend Dustin Lance Black, who was also on the flight, posted a video of the emergency landing, and revealed that the pair remain “locked” on the flight in a Russian airport.
