Tom Daley revealed how he proposed, and it’s sickeningly sweet

Tom Daley has revealed how he proposed.

Whether he is breaking down barriers in the world of sport, treating fans to endless pictures of his well-toned chest or pretending to be a shark, the Olympian is an undoubtedly great role model for the LGBT community.

However, barely a week goes by without the diver sharing a detail of his relationship with his fiancé Dustin Lance Black, keeping fans in a permanent state of jealousy/bitterness/admiration.

The latest gem offered by the pair concerned their recent engagement (just in cased you missed it).

The diver told the ES Magazine: “There was a race!

“I took the ring with me from London [to Lance’s house].

“I could never find a place where we were alone. It’s scary to ask, and you’re psyched up.

“Eventually I decided I had to do it and it ended up being in the house.

“Lance was surprised, but then he went and got the ring he’d bought for me. He’d been having a similar problem. We’d both told each other’s parents before flying out.”

Awwww!

With the wedding set for some time after the Rio Olympics, Daley told the magazine the couple haven’t planned anything just yet – but no doubt they’ll be sure to share every minute detail when they do.

At least they’ve got their priorities right when it comes to the big day.

“We haven’t thought about anything, not even the cake,” he said.

And while the vast majority of the mainstream media have adopted the pair as their token gay couple of choice  since their announcement in a national newspaper – one ‘fan’ wasn’t so impressed by the news.

The ‘fan’ uploaded a teary Chris Crockeresque YouTube video, asking: “How could you do this to me Tom? I love you, I mean I really love you… who even is this Justin Black?

“He’s just walking around like ‘I’m fighting for equality and I have an award for a movie that isn’t even that good’… you know what I have, Tom? LOVE.”
