Patrick Bradley has shared a letter he recently wrote to his entire family.
Patrick Bradley – a food writer – recently shared expressing his feeling towards his parents after they failed to attend his wedding three years ago.
Although he has seen them since, they have barely spoken, and he says the stress of the situation is now even effecting his health.
He says he wants to write the letter to finally express how he feels about his family – as well as telling the rest of his family “his side of the story”.
Bradley – who is the founder of TheGayFoodie.com – says he also wrote the open letter to address the hurt his parents caused and continue to cause him.
His parents’ intolerance serves as a harsh reminder that even though the world has moved forward on LGBT issues, the decision to be honest about one’s sexuality can still result in rejection, pain and heartache.
