Judge suing the government because he doesn’t want to watch LGBT training video
A judge in Texas is suing theĀ Social Security Administration – because he refuses to watch a training video about LGBT issues.
Apparently the masculinity of Texas Judge Gary Suttles is so fragile that the special snowflake can’t even bear to watch a 17-minute training video as part of an LGBT awareness drive.
Not only did the judge refuse to watch the clip, but he’s now filed federal case against the governmentĀ alleging that watching the clip would violate his “sincerely held religious beliefs”.
Suttles, an administrative law judge in the Houston District office of the SSA, was offered the opportunity to read a transcript of the video instead, but declined.
The training was part of a bid to boostĀ workplace diversity in the government sector, but Suttles is apparently terrified that he might be sent to Hell if he so much as thinks about a gay person for a few minutes.
The judge penned a furious email to SSA officials in which he branded the videoĀ “government indoctrination training [which] does not comport with my religious views”.
He filed a lawsuit this week accusingĀ the SSA of violating his First Amendment rights, alleging that “the agency has wholly failed to work in good faith to reasonably accommodate Judge Suttlesā sincerely held religious belief against watching”.
According to the Washington Post, he claims they created a “religiously hostile work environment” with the inclusion measure.
A separate low-ranking SSA administrator with one hell of a martyr complex previously threatened toĀ sue the SSA for allegedly ādiscriminatingā against himĀ by asking him to undergo the same diversity training.
He said: āIām not going to give up my faith or compromise my beliefs just to go along and get along. I donāt believe God wants me to do that.
āUnfortunately, I believe [LGBT people] are wrong. But neither of us should lose our jobs or livelihood for our beliefs.
āFor me, I know Iām not a martyr or a bigot. Iām not asking for anyoneās approval or forgiveness; Iām simply trying to live out my life, my faith and be obedient to the will of God.ā
There are no reports of anyone actually being fired for refusing to watch the video.
