Glee’s Jane Lynch to guest star in Will & Grace revival

Jane Lynch holding an Emmy Award

Jane Lynch will be making a guest appearance in NBC’s upcoming Will & Grace revival.

She will star in an episode alongside gay Broadway star Andrew Rannells, the Hollywood Reporter confirmed.

Megan Mullally posted a video of the three dancing on her Twitter, and people couldn’t handle it.

Lynch is best known for her portrayal of the sharp-tongued tracksuit-wearing coach Sue Sylvester on Glee, and has just won her fourth Emmy award for the sitcome ‘Dropping the Soap.’

An out lesbian, Lynch is considered one of the most prominent LGBT people in entertainment, and advocates on many LGBT issues.

< In a campaign called It Get’s Better, she said that growing up gay “was almost like I had a disease.”

Rannells was Elder Price in the original Broadway cast on The Book of Mormon, for which he received a Tony nomination, and played Elijah Krantz on Girls. He also made a guest appearance on the final series of Glee.

The ninth season of Will & Grace will premiere on Thursday September 28, in NBC’s primetime spot, and will have sixteen episodes.

All four original stars, Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Megan Mullally and Sean Hayes, are returning after the decade hiatus.

Will & Grace was known for having some of the most famous faces around to cameo in its eight-year original run, including Madonna, Cher and Matt Damon.

The show is iconic for its role in changing LGBT public perception in the early 2000s, so its only fitting that many of its guest stars are gay icons.

Last month Michelle Obama was rumoured to be on board for an appearance, with a source saying she was “up for anything, as long as it doesn’t cross the line too much,” but there has been no news of confirmation.

Excitement continues to mount for the series, as the cast drop hints and social media teasers in the run up.
