Frank Ocean interviewed Timothee Chalamet and it’s just as glorious as you’d expect
Could there be a more joyful meeting of minds than Frank Ocean and Timothee Chalamet?
VMAN magazine hit the nail on the head when they decided to ask queer icon Frank Ocean to interview the breakout Call Me By Your Name star – and the results of the conversation are pretty-life affirming.
In the interview, Ocean quizzed Chalamet over the phone on everything from Hawaiian Korean BBQ through to their favourite bus routes around New York City.
“This is so exciting. It is an honour to speak to you, man. I’m such a huge fan. This is going to be a real test to keep my voice level and keep this as normal of a conversation as possible,” gushed Chalamet.
Ocean also paid lip service to Chalamet for his “boutique” role in Call Me By Your Name, saying that the coming-of-age gay drama is “on the lips of so many”.
“It’s such a proper foundation, to do roles like these that have so much heart and vulnerability in the very beginning, completely boutique or small, but on the lips of so many. Congratulations for the work and its effect and how it’s made people feel; it’s tremendous,” said the singer.
As the pair grow into the conversation, Chalamet decides to go rogue and quote Ocean’s lyrics back at him.
“Dreaming a thought that could dream about a thought. / That could think of the dreamer that thought. / That could think of dreaming and getting a glimmer of God,” sings Chalamet.
Ocean laughs as the star belts out Seigfried, and says “don’t do that”.
It is evident that the actor is deeply touched by his conversation with the artist, stating that “it means the world to me”.
“Thank you so much for this. It’s been such an experience, sharing personal thoughts about artistry and acting with someone that’s influenced me in many ways. This means the world to me.
