Police appeal for help after sexual assault on man in central London

London's Metropolitan Police are looking to speak with two men in connection with the sexual assault

Police are appealing for help after a man was the victim of a sexual assault in central London.

The incident took place on October 24, 2018 in Flitcroft Street, off of Charing Cross Road, at around 2:45 AM.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was sexually assaulted by two men.

The two suspects left the location on foot, before a friend of the victim came to his aid and called the police.

Sexual assault took place ‘in public street’

London’s Metropolitan Police released images of two men they would like to speak with in connection with the assault.

Both suspects were described by the victim as white, and of Eastern European origin.

According to the police description, the first suspect is believed to be “between 35 to 40 years old, short (around 5ft5ins tall) and of stocky build,” with big ears.

The second suspect, who was wearing a blue Superdry jacket, is believed to be “between 30 and 35 years of age, of skinny build,” clean shaven with light brown hair.

The location of the assault is near to several nightclubs, including the G-A-Y Late venue.

Metropolitan Police appeal for help after sexual assault

Metropolitan Police Detective Constable Robin East said: “This was a sexual assault on a man in a public street and we appeal for anyone who thinks they can help us with the investigation to come forward.

“Although this happened in the early hours, there would still have been a number of people around the area who may have seen the victim or suspects before or after the assault.

“We are interested in speaking to the two men in these images, so if you recognise them, please don’t delay in calling police.”

He added: “The victim in this case continues to receive support from specially trained officers.

“We have not had any further reports of similar assaults and this is being treated as an isolated incident.”
