Gay couple show that romance is everywhere by having their engagement photo shoot in Target

Gay couple engagement shoot Target

A gay couple’s engagement photos have gone viral after they staged them in an unusual location – the aisles of their favourite shop, Target.

Aaron Damron and Tony DiPasqua from Erie, Pennsylvania, had no interest in a typical engagement shoot. When they met up with photographer Erica Whiting to discuss potential locations, they ruled out all the usual spots, like the local parks, lakes and forests.

After being together for five years they wanted their photos to reflect the romance of their everyday relationship, which meant only one place would do.

“We wanted it to be fun. We wanted it to be us. We’re not what you call outdoorsy. You won’t find us frolicking through the woods or over train tracks – But you can almost always find us at Target,” Damron wrote on Facebook.

The ridiculously romantic photos show the pair kissing in the dairy aisle, riding in the trollies and stocking up on frozen pizzas, before ending their date with Starbucks iced coffees.

The engagement shoot made the couple an internet sensation and the photos have been shared over 18,000 times since Damron first posted them in July.

“After waiting a few years, we knew we wanted something that spoke to us as a couple,” Damron told HuffPost. “We are not outdoorsy people ― you won’t find us on the trail on the weekends. But we very much love to ‘bum around’ our town and go from store to store looking for good deals, especially at Target.”

“Early on in our relationship, Target became one of our go-to spots. We love wandering the aisles looking for deals and just spending time together,” DiPasqua added.

After a three-year engagement the deal-loving duo are set to tie the knot on New Year’s Eve, making it impossible for either of them to forget their anniversary.
