Katy Perry has revealed that she is pregnant in the music video for her new song “Never Worn White”, and said a new album is on the way.

The pop star made the big news public in the final shot of the music video where she is filmed standing in side profile cradling her baby bump.

In the song, Perry sings about marrying her fiancé Orlando Bloom and reveals her hopes and fears for the future.

Following the release of the song, she hinted that a new album is on the way in an Instagram post, writing: “Let’s just say it’s gonna be a jam packed summer… ?♥️”.

She later confirmed that a new album is on the way in a live video following the release of “Never Worn White”, Sky News reports.

“Let’s call it a double-whammy,” she said.

“I am excited, we’re excited, and happy. It’s probably the longest secret I’ve ever had to keep.”

The new song was written in Santa Barbara and Perry said it is “super vulnerable”.

“It’s very honest, it’s about surrendering to love and all that you go through when you’re about to commit to someone,” she said.

Perry also referenced her first marriage to Russell Brand, noting: “The truth is I have never worn white, because the time before this, 10 years ago, I wore dove grey. So let’s just say it’ll be my first time wearing white.”

Perry later joked on Twitter: “Omg so glad I don’t have to suck it in anymore or carry around a big purse lol.”
