Pose star Ryan Jamaal Swain shares heartfelt tribute to sister who was shot dead: ‘We will honour you with justice’

Ryan Jamaal Swain has posted a heartbroken tribute to his sister, Raven Lynette Swain, was reportedly shot dead.
The Pose star, who portrays dancer Damon Evangelista in the FX series, shared his grief after his younger sister was found dead in Birmingham, Alabama.
Raven, just 24, was found behind the wheel of a car and pronounced dead at the scene after a reported shooting incident Tuesday (July 28).
Posting on social media, her brother paid tribute to “my heart, little sister, my ride or die, my partner in life”.

He wrote: “Our hearts are broken. We are in shock and continue to search for answers. I am at a loss for words to describe the pain that I feel in my heart over the loss of my baby sister, a beautiful soul taken too soon.

“Raven was a light; loving, full of joy and laughter, and much more to the many people who knew and loved her.
“We will praise every moment of life that we were blessed to share with her. We will seek justice and for the authorities to find out who is responsible for this unspeakable act of violence.
“I ask that you respect my family’s privacy at this time.”
He continued: “Know that your big brother and family will always honour you. We will honour you by how we love. We will honour you by how we live. We will honour you with justice.
“We will forever say your name, Raven Lynette Swain.”

Ryan added: “I cannot even imagine life without you and I won’t. At the moment, we are hurting, gathering information, planning next steps, and lifting you up. This is not done. We will have swift justice.”
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to Raven’s Gift, a fund set up to pay for education for her younger siblings via the Cash App $ravensiblings.

Ryan Jamaal Swain’s friends and Pose colleagues shared condolences.
Angel Bismark Curiel wrote: “May you receive all the love and compassion you need to get you through this ?? we are here for you.”
Jeremy McClain added: “I’m so sorry Ryan. All my love to you and your family.”
Pose co-creator Steven Canals wrote: “I’m sorry Ryan. Sending you love & keeping your family in my prayers.”
Janelle Monáe posted: “This hurts my whole soul. I’m so sorry Jamaal. So so sorry. I will be praying for you and your entire family. Sending you every ounce of love right now.”
According to Al.com, locals reported hearing shots fired at the scene before Raven was found.
Sgt. Rod Mauldin of Birmingham Police said last week: “Right now our detectives are canvassing the area.We don’t have many details of what took place.”
“We don’t know if this took place somewhere else and her vehicle came to a stop here or if it happened here. We are working hard but we need people to come forward with information.”
