The Crown star Emma Corrin says she’s ‘queer’ in cryptic Instagram post

Emma Corrin, The Crown’s Princess Diana, has declared herself your “fave queer bride”.

On Wednesday (7 April), the 24-year-old Golden Globe-winner shared photos from a wedding-themed shoot for Pop magazine on Instagram.

She captioned the photos: “Ur fave queer bride.”

Fans are questioning whether Emma Corrin has just come out.

Emma Corrin confused fans with her brief Instagram caption, with one commenting: “Wait, is she playing a queer bride in a queer movie? (That I must immediately see) or is she coming out?”

Although Corrin has not confirmed whether or not she was referring to herself as queer, many fans interpreted the post as a coming out moment.

One wrote on Twitter: “DID EMMA CORRIN JUST COME OUT OH MY GOD MY QUEEN I’M SO PROUD.”

Others decided not to make assumptions, with one fan simply tweeting: “I hope Emma Corrin is having good day, nothing but love and respect for her! We got you baby.”

Corrin told The Telegraph last year that she shares a London flat with four university friends, and, assumed to be straight by the newspaper and asked if she had a boyfriend, she responded: “I’d rather navigate this on my own. It’s nicer to feel like I’m taking care of me.”

The rising star portrayed Princess Diana in The Crown‘s fourth series, which was released in November last year.

The drama touched on the Princess of Wales’ legacy of fighting HIV/AIDS stigma, and in its final episode showed her visit to a Harlem hospital filled with young people suffering from AIDS.

Corrin won the Golden Globe for best actress in a television series drama for her performance on the show in March this year. She will soon be seen in My Policeman with Harry Styles, playing a schoolteacher who marries a gay policeman.
