Lil Nas X’s Twerk Hero video game is as bonkers and unapologetically queer as you might expect
If the video for Lil Nas X’s Montero has you feeling jealous, fear not! You too can now twerk upon Satan’s lap in the new video game Twerk Hero.
The rapper has smashed the charts with the certified queer banger “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)”, but it’s the unapologetically queer video that’s really got people talking.
Christian imagery, falling to Hell on a stripper pole, lap dancing Satan… the video has it all. At the end, Lil Nas X kills Satan, removes his horns and crowns himself the new monarch of the underworld.
Basically, it’s perfect for a video game. And that’s just what the rapper and his team have released.
The game is a free-to-play browser game where Lil Nas X twerks in a variety of locales from the video. The aim is to twerk against icons that float across the screen (devilish butt plugs?) to get a high score and proceed to the end.
Yes, the stripper pole is included. And it all ends with a dance on Satan’s fiery lap.
The twerking is controlled with your mouse (don’t rely on a laptop trackpad) and has some of the wildest, jiggliest butt physics yet seen in gaming as Lil Nas X jerks and contorts himself. Seriously, this needs to become a standard.
It’s hardly an accurate rhythm game, but as a fun accompaniment to the song it’ll certainly make you giggle.

“I hope my haters are sad. I hope they are crying. I want your tears to fill my Grammy cup,” said Lil Nas X on Twitter following the song’s climb to number one.
“Y’all told a 19 year old who had just escaped the lowest point of his life that he would never have a hit again.
“You told him to stop while he’s ahead. He could’ve gave up. But four multi platinum songs and two number ones later, he’s still here. Thank you to my team and my fans! Ily.”
