Keanu Reeves thrilled by gamers having digital sex with his Cyberpunk 2077 avatar: ‘It’s nice’

Keanu Reeves’ fans have been living out their sexual fantasies with his video game character in Cyberpunk 2077, and the actor is more than OK with it.

As one of Hollywood’s most beloved actors, Reeves has amassed a large fanbase over the years – and some admirers have figured out a way to get up close and personal with The Matrix star, albeit in a virtual sense.

When Cyberpunk 2077 was released in December 2020, gamers were thrilled to play as Johnny Silverhand, who is voiced by and takes his likeness from the 57-year-old actor.

Soon, some kinky users figured out a mod that allowed their avatars to enjoy simulated sex with Keanu Reeves’ video game character (who remains fully clothes during the virtual romps).

The modification reportedly allowed players to swap main characters with ‘joytoy’ sex workers, meaning gamers could have fun with characters they wouldn’t usually be able to.

CD Projekt Red – the company behind Cyberpunk 2077 – soon shut it down, but Reeves has revealed he was totally cool about fans getting down with his likeness in the cyber world.

When told about the situation by The Verge, he exclaimed with joy: “Oh my god, It’s always nice when it’s nice.”

The actor playfully continued: “Think of how much money is in porn, right? So you could not even have to be there and people could have digital sex with your digital avatar.

“What’s it called right now, For Members Only? [OnlyFans]… You could do a whole thing. Oh my god, then you get the suit that’s probably made in Sweden or some German thing, then you’ve got the VR thing. Then they’ve got the data on you with your arousal metrics…”

We’ll keep an eye out for Keanu Reeves’ OnlyFans. Until then, fans can enjoy seeing him back on the big screen this month as he reprises his role as Neo in The Matrix Resurrections, which is out on 22 December.

Directed by acclaimed trans filmmaker Lana Wachowski, the film also welcomes Neil Patrick Harris and Jonathan Groff to the fold, as well as Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as a new version of Morpheus. Carrie-Anne Moss is back as Trinity, with Jada Pinkett Smith as an older Niobe.

Cyberpunk 2077, while incredibly popular, has been accused of fetishising trans women, and of perpetuating transphobic stereotypes.
