RuPaul’s Drag Race season 14 queen ‘snuck porn onto production’
One season 14 RuPaul’s Drag Race star brought risqué items with her during production – and she even shared her special stash with her fellow queens.
On Friday (7 January), a new group of queens will begin their Drag Race journey to win the coveted title, crown and sceptre and lush $100,000 cash prize. The competitors for this season include two trailblazing trans queens and the franchise’s first straight, cisgender male contestant.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the queens were asked about which contestant brought the most “interesting or unorthodox items” with them onto production.
Without missing a beat, all the queens nominated the British native Lady Camden.
Some of the queens joked that Camden seemed to bring her entire wardrobe to the show, but Bosco declared that the queen was “selling smut on the side”.
In maybe mock disbelief, Camden said she didn’t think she had “that crazy s**t”.
She recalled looking at her collection of wigs and costumes to organise them ahead of the show. But she wasn’t sure if any of it would fit, “if it’s going to be over” or “under” and had issues getting her “brain around six suitcases of stuff”.
But DeJa Skye interrupted and said the group really wanted her to talk about the porn she brought onto the production.
Camden then shared the “awkward experience” she had shopping for the choice DVDs in San Francisco ahead of filming Drag Race.
“I was like browsing for DVD porn right, which apparently is actually quite an awkward experience because like the guys at the front desk was watching you the whole time,” she said.

She took her time in the adult shop as she wanted to bring a “few things”, and she wanted to evaluate each video as there was only so much one could “gauge” from the “back of the DVD”.
“I need to read the blurb a little bit – see like what the stories are,” Camden said. “It’s been like a long time, and then I went up to the cash register and they were like, ‘Oh you took your time didn’t you.’”
Daya Betty added the stash of DVDs was “rotated” around between the queens.
Atlanta queen Angeria Paris VanMichaels even jokingly dubbed the season 14 cast as “the Sisterhood of the Traveling Porn”.
RuPaul’s Drag Race season 14 premieres on 7 January. Fans in the UK can catch the new series on the streamer of all things drag, WOW Presents Plus.
